In Parental Consent, you don't play as a hero, a soldier, or a chosen one. You play as a parent. Your weapons are patience, presence, and the choices you make when no one's watching. Your enemy is everything that tries to pull you away from being good enough.

Character creation asks who you are. The game asks who you'll become.

STATS MATTER

Your parent has stats that affect gameplay, relationships, and combat.

Energy: How much you can do before you're depleted.

Patience: How much you can take before you snap.

Warmth: How emotionally available you are.

Discipline: How consistently you enforce boundaries.

Wisdom: How good your advice and decisions are.

Charisma: How you're perceived socially. Affects temptation encounters.

Willpower: Resistance to addiction, affairs, and bad decisions.

Income: What you can afford. Housing, schools, opportunities.

Health: Your physical condition. Mortality becomes a factor as you age.

BE THE PERFECT PARENT

You build your character through choices that matter mechanically and narratively.

Age Younger parents have more energy, fewer resources, and something to prove. Older parents have stability, less stamina, and the clock ticking louder. Your age affects your stats and your mortality.

Starting Situation Married with a planned pregnancy. Single by choice. Unexpected pregnancy. Adoption. Step-parent entering an existing family. Teen pregnancy with a time skip. Each starting point reshapes the difficulty and the story.

Background Your own childhood matters. Were you loved or neglected? Did your parents stay together? Do you carry trauma you're trying not to repeat? Your past becomes mechanics. Patterns you fight against or fall into.

Customization Race, appearance, heritage, religion, sexual orientation, political leaning. These aren't cosmetic. They shape how Edgewater treats you, what communities support you, and what your child inherits.

THE CLASS SYSTEM - CHOOSE YOUR DADDY OR MOMMY

Your parenting style is your class. It determines your stats, your abilities, and how the world sees you.

Tier 1: Base Classes

You pick one at character creation. Thirteen archetypes, each with a Daddy and Mommy variant that play similarly but encounter different social and gameplay dynamics.

Corporate Daddy / Corporate Mommy High income. Corner office. Never home.
Your child has opportunities. They also have a parent-shaped hole.

House Daddy / House Mommy Home is your domain. Laundry, lunches, and full presence.
Your child has you. Whether that's enough depends on who you are.

Strict Daddy / Tiger Mommy Rules. Expectations. Results.
Your child achieves. They also fear. The line between discipline and damage is thinner than you think.

Creative Daddy / Creative Mommy Artist. Dreamer. Unconventional everything.
Your child sees the world differently. Stability is optional.

Gym Daddy / Yoga Mommy Fitness is identity. Health is priority.
Your child learns discipline and body awareness. Or body obsession. Depends on you.

Social Daddy / Soccer Mommy Community organizer. Carpool captain. Everyone knows you.
Your child has a village. You might care more about the village than the child.

Chill Daddy / Chill Mommy Relaxed. Patient. Go with the flow.
Your child has freedom. Maybe too much. The fridge has beer or wine or something stronger.

Faith Daddy / Faith Mommy Believer. Church on Sunday. Morality as framework.
Your child has structure and community. They also have rules that might not fit who they become.

Professor Daddy / Teacher Mommy Education is everything. Learning never stops.
Your child has academic support. They might also have a parent who cares more about grades than feelings.

Hustle Daddy / Boss Mommy Entrepreneur. Side gigs. Always building something.
Your child sees ambition. They also see a parent who's always busy with the next thing.

Protector Daddy / Guardian Mommy Safety first. Vigilance always.
Your child feels secure. Or smothered. The world is dangerous and you never let them forget it.

Partner Daddy / Partner Mommy Co-parenting focused. Team player. Relationship-centered.
Your child sees partnership modeled. If the partnership fails, so does the foundation.

DILF Daddy / MILF Mommy (Unlockable) You're hot. Everyone notices. Including people who shouldn't.
Your child is mortified. Temptation encounters doubled. Unlocked after first playthrough with high Charisma.

TIER 2: EVOLUTIONS

Your base class evolves based on your choices. Three paths per class.

Positive Evolution You grew. You balanced your strengths with awareness of your weaknesses. Your parenting improved.

Neutral Evolution You leaned into your archetype. Not better, not worse, just more. The extreme version of who you started as.

Corruption You failed. Your strength became your flaw. The thing that made you capable became the thing that damaged your child.

Positive: Calm Anchor / Peaceful Presence Your chill became stability. Regulated, present, unshakeable when it mattered.

Neutral: Beer Daddy / Wine Mommy Your relaxation has a chemical assist. Functional. Probably fine. The line between unwind and need is blurry.

Corruption: Checked Out / Addict Chill became absence. You're so relaxed you're barely there. Or you're dependent now and everyone knows.

Strict Daddy / Tiger Mommy

Positive: Authoritative Father / Excellence Coach High expectations with high warmth. Structure that supports, not suffocates.

Neutral: Old School Dad / Piano AND Violin You doubled down. Traditional strict. Your child performs. Whether they're okay inside is unclear.

Corruption: The Dictator / Tiger Tyrant Rules without relationship. Fear-based compliance. Your child obeys your face and plots behind your back.

Positive: Loyal Heartthrob / Committed Knockout You're hot and you're faithful. Boundaries firm. Temptation resisted.
