A Turn-Based Combat RPG with Beat 'Em Up, Bullet Hell, and Rogue-Like Elementss

Parental Consent

Controlled Chaos. Absolute Stakes. No Perfect Parents.
And when you've done everything, when you've lived every life and faced every failure, you earn the right to look the universe in the eye and say:
"Don't talk to me or my son/daughter ever again."

Our Story

You just had a kid. Congratulations.

Now raise them from birth to age 30 without turning them into a monster, a burnout, a stranger, or (worst case) the literal end of the world.

Because here's the thing: the universe gave you a vision. Your child carries something dark. A prophecy. A potential. Left unchecked, they could bring about the apocalypse. Your job is to love them hard enough, raise them well enough, and fight through every tantrum, heartbreak, and teenage screaming match to make sure that doesn't happen.

Or don't. See what happens.

Parental Consent is a turn-based RPG about the brutal, absurd, heartbreaking, hilarious experience of raising a child. Combat shifts genres based on emotional stakes. Arguing with your teen is a bullet hell. Birthday party chaos is a beat 'em up. Navigating your kid's internet rabbit hole is a rogue-like dungeon. Your parenting style is your class. Your family is your party. Your failures have consequences. And somewhere at the end of it all, there's something waiting. Something cosmic. Something that fills in slowly, star by star, across every life you live.

The Constellation remembers everything.

“Every decision we make is shaped by a clear sense of purpose…now clean your f*cking room.”

Gameplay: Turn-based combat (Chrono Trigger-style ATB) with genre-shifting levels

Setting: Modern American absurdism with cosmic horror undertones

Tone: South Park meets Shin Megami Tensei meets the 3 AM panic of realizing you're responsible for a human being

Mood: Satirical. Sincere. Savage. Sometimes all three in the same scene.

KEY FEATURES

Parent Classes That Evolve or Corrupt

Start as Corporate Daddy, Tiger Mommy, Chill Daddy, or a dozen other archetypes. Your choices push you toward growth (Authoritative Father, Wellness Guide) or corruption (Absent Executive, Addict, Hugh Hefner).

Some paths are aspirational. Some are warnings.

Your Village Is Your Party

Up to six party members drawn from your life. Spouse, co-parent, grandparents, friends, coworkers, babysitter. Even your affair partner (until you get caught). Relationships unlock combat support. High trust means they show up when it matters.

Low trust means you're alone.

A Child Who Grows, Reacts, and Secretly Keeps Score

Your kid isn't a passive objective. They watch you. They remember. They have opinions they're not telling you. Their hidden resentment meter fills with every broken promise. Their trust unlocks or locks based on years of accumulated choic

Lose Conditions That Hit Hard

CPS intervention. Your kid emancipates themselves. They go no contact at 18. They run away. They hurt themselves. They become a soulless finance bro who calls quarterly. Failure isn't game over. It's a redemption quest.

But redemption isn't guaranteed.

The Constellation

Every playthrough adds stars. Every choice, every failure, every life lived. Something is taking shape across all your runs.

What it unlocks... you'll have to earn.

Combat That Matches the Moment

Core combat is turn-based with active time meters. But when your teen explodes at you, words become projectiles in a bullet hell. When the birthday party goes sideways, it's a side-scrolling brawl.

The system adapts to the emotional reality of parenting.

Prestige Modes for the Brave and the Guilty

Beat the game and try Another One (new family, carried progress).
Or The Inheritance (play as your kid raising their kid while you meddle as grandparent).
Or The Deadbeat Run (abandon your family, start over, live with it).
Or The Double Life (two secret families, maximum chaos, inevitable collision).

THE PROMISE

This isn't a parenting simulator. It's not a wholesome journey about learning to love.

It's a game about the terror of being responsible for another human. The comedy of failing constantly. The weight of knowing your choices echo. And the earned catharsis of standing between your kid and anything (even fate itself) and refusing to move.

Controlled Chaos. Absolute Stakes. No Perfect Parents.
